Heijeu Arts invites the community to come Under Cover — to celebrate the daring, messy, beautiful act of keeping creativity alive. This one-night / two-part event combines art, performance, food, and fun to raise funds for the most essential, unglamorous part of the creative process: insurance.
Under Cover: The Kids Are Covered Too 4pm - 5:30pm
Interactive art stations by the Tiny School of Art & Design
Short performances by local artists
Snacks and cocoa bar
Family suggested donation of $10
Under Cover: After Dark 6-8pm
A lively night featuring:
Live music by local artists
Pop-up performances and community skits
Silent and live art auctions
Appetizers & drinks from local food partners
“The Insurance Claim Raffle” — quirky prizes for “insured” guests
Tickets: $25 in advance / $30 at the door
Thinking outside the box can get costly…
As Heijeu Arts developed interesting and new programming, there was always a reality of insuring the grand and unique ideas. This meant we had awkward conversations with insurance agents, and long surveys of what we do. Turns out that the more out of the box you are, the more spendy it is to insure.
We aren’t going to shy away for these expenses, but we also don’t want to build it into our fees for our partners. To keep the costs as reasonable as possible, we figured with could poke fun at (and educate about) the reality of insurance for fun. Join us for a fun filled event and for a merch line that will help cover a $15,000 gap in our annual budget to cover the unknown.
