This one-night-only event brings together a diverse collection of local talent. Whether you're looking to shop handmade goods, support emerging artists, or just enjoy an art-filled evening with the community—Artists By The Trio is for you.

Meet the Artists

  • Sadie Marty

    Sadie Marty is a 25-year-old visual artist that earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from St. Cloud State University in May 2024. Her primary focus is painting, drawing, and printmaking. She also screen prints and shoots and develops her own black-and-white film photography. Her creative practice often draws inspiration from nature, but she also makes art based on her chronic illnesses. She has been making more activism artwork recently as well.

  • Isiah Okongo

    Isaiah Okongo is a visually impaired artist who makes downtown scenes with drawing.

  • Shane Mahon

    With over 20 years experience teaching art to children and adults, Shane Mahon remains passionate about art, making and teaching. He believes they go hand in hand. Additionally, many years of experience working with students facing emotional and behavioral challenges has guided him to specialize accessible hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) learning. In Saint Cloud, Shane mentors young artists and brings hands-on making to his community. At the Avon Hills Folk School, he teaches metalworking and supports child led, freeplay in nature. At home Shane and his spouse are always learning and making new things.

  • Paula Tift

    Paula Tift has embraced painting watercolors for the past ten years. She enjoys painting portraits of people and pets. She finds old abandoned buildings catch her eye and loves to paint them and has also found old and abandoned cars and trucks intriguing. Of course flowers and birds and butterflies are beautiful subjects. She sells originals, recently has made prints of a few of her paintings, and has blank greeting cards that are printed from her original art available.

  • Lisa Ackerman

    Lisa Ackerman of Lil Fish Studios is a multi-passionate artist whose work is rooted in a deep appreciation for the natural world. Her recent work features joyful illustration made in paper collage, using papers she prints herself through monoprinting. She explores color, texture, and the stories held within familiar landscapes as well as the overlooked. Her layered compositions are built so that the overlapping papers create richly textured pieces full of color and detail. The visible edges and intersections are never disguised; they remain as a record of the piece's construction. Lisa is drawn to the honesty of those layers, believing there is beauty in allowing the work to reveal how it was made. Growing up in rural Illinois fostered a lifelong connection to nature that continues to shape her creative practice. Trips to the Art Institute of Chicago opened her eyes at a young age to the splendor of artistic expression. Lisa's artwork is in collections around the globe. She served as a nonprofit arts administrator for 9 years in the Brainerd Lakes area. Today she is involved in many community arts initiatives and collaborations, and has opened her studio up to help others explore their creativity.
