Unleashing Creativity with Heijeu Arts

Our volunteers mean the world to us! Each one started with a simple introduction to our programs, and keep coming back for more art making and community!

Creativity is an intrinsic part of our humanity, and HeiJeu Arts is a beacon for those seeking to explore and nurture their artistic potential. This non-profit organization stands out by offering unique programs that not only teach art but help individuals discover the artist within themselves.

One of the most cherished programs at HeiJeu Arts is the Everyday People Sketch Night. As artist Sandra Theis beautifully puts it, the event is a canvas for both skill enhancement and personal connection. Participants arrive with blank sheets and leave with unique sketches, each reflecting the distinct life journey of the artist behind it. The non-judgmental environment fosters both learning and friendship, making it a favorite among local creatives.

Charlene, another dedicated artist and volunteer, shares how these events reignited her passion for drawing. The sessions provided a perfect excuse to dust off her art skills and immerse herself in a supportive community that welcomes all skill levels.

The story of Keith Piskur, a poet and board member, exemplifies the transformative power of HeiJeu Arts. His journey started at The Whit Gallery's open mic nights, where he first dared to share his poetry. Today, he not only actively participates in these enriching experiences but also contributes to shaping the encouraging atmosphere that Heijeu Arts is known for.

HeiJeu Arts' impact extends beyond individual growth. Betz Steichen, a founding board member, emphasizes the organization's role in community building. Through programs like the Tiny School of Art and Design, HeiJeu Arts provides engaging activities for all ages, fostering a vibrant arts community.

Whether you're a seasoned artist or just beginning to explore your creative side, HeiJeu Arts offers a welcoming space to express yourself and connect with others. So, why not join a workshop, participate in a sketch night, or simply drop by to soak in the creative energy? Your journey of artistic discovery awaits.
