Call for Community Engaged Artists

Call for Artists: Juneteenth 2025 Community Art Activities: Rooted In Resilience

Heijeu Arts is looking for local artists or artist groups to propose fun, interactive art activities for our Juneteenth 2025 celebration! This is a chance to share your creativity with the community while honoring the significance of Juneteenth.

What We're Looking For: We want simple, hands-on art activities or projects that invite everyone to participate. Your idea can be anything from a painting activity, a sculpture, a performance, or something unique that brings people together in a creative way. The activity should be welcoming and fun, with a focus on celebrating freedom, empowerment, and African American heritage. Your activity can also be an interpretation of “Rooted In Resilience.”

Details:

  • Stipend: $250 for your time, materials, and facilitation.

  • Date: Juneteenth, June 19, 2025, Activities run 1-5pm, set up at 11am.

  • Location: Lake George, St. Cloud, MN

  • Deadline to Apply: May 18, 2025 (One month prior to the event)

How to Apply: To apply, just email the following to info@heijeuarts.org:

  • A short description (100-150 words) of your art activity or project.

  • A short bio about yourself (50-100 words).

  • Optional: Schedule a zoom or phone discussion to discuss your idea.
