Stearns History Museum
What To Expect:
Day 1: Learn what the Stearns Museum (or any county museum, for that matter) has … or doesn’t have… when it comes to local history, stories, and objects.
Day 2: Go deep with concepts from day one; create an art piece, be part of a musical experience, and more!
Pay What You Can: Slide us what you can, prior, during, or even after each workshop! The value of such workshops range from $75 - 500. We know that is not always an option, so we give you the choice to support our efforts as much as you can. Thank you in advance!
Past Workshops:
Visual Journaling
Get ready to let your creativity flow with the incredible power of visual journaling! This workshop is all about taking historical tidbits from the archives of the Stearns History Museum and organizing them in a fun and inspiring way.
Creating a Handbound Book
Imagine preparing a canvas for future paintings. Bookmaking is similar – it sets the stage for future ideas to take shape. In this workshop, we'll delve into the art of bookmaking as a means of establishing your mobile, handheld studio. Use it to tell your important story and take your ideas to the next level.
Unleashing Creativity: Using Art to Tackle Social Issues
Get your creativity muscles flexing in this workshop, where we’ll use a medley of art supplies, techniques and thought-provoking prompts.
Stir up a Narrative Collage with Contradictory Tales of Self
Who says life is all black and white? Let's get creative and tell your story with all its juicy contradictions through the art of Narrative Collage! Using shared materials and your own stash of paper goodies, we'll weave together a series of images that reflect the beautiful messiness of life.
Adult Artist Retreat - Tell your story before someone tells it for you.
Artists of all types (visual art, literary, music, theater) and abilities (from novice to established) are encouraged to participate! Create artwork that helps tell your story. Connect to other artists in many disciplines.
Facilitated by Heidi Jeub and Terrell Woods, this popular workshop has been brought to the Stearns History Museum in St. Cloud, Minnesota several times and also to the former Whit Gallery in St. Cloud! We play with materials, ideas, and dive deep into concepts around authentic artistic endeavors.
