Creativity Brought to You and Your Community

Welcome to the

Tiny School of Art & Design

The Tiny School of Art & Design brings the joy of the art studio, through quality art materials, tools and expertise, to your community, so folx can experiment and express through creative play.

What is the Tiny School of Art & Design?

The Tiny School of Art & Design is a traveling art studio that includes art studio equipment, high quality art tools and materials. Inspired by the art school experience, teaching artists bring knowledge, attitude and passion to communities of all sorts.

Equipment like "drawing horses" spark curiosity for passersby, with a special throne for someone to pose for creators of all abilities, ages, and attitudes. Teaching artists provide support for participants to engage with the materials, but not necessarily a "how to draw" format. Additional art tables, lovingly covered with paint and notes from past participants, are used for watercolor and painting activities. Artists will give quick instructions of how to use the materials, allowing the participants to dive in and try it for themselves.

Tiny School Offerings

  • By using high quality art materials and techniques, participants can explore their world with visual art tools like paint, drawing, and collage. Host locations can customize the experience to fit their mission or event. For example, a farmers market may draw and paint vegetables or a public park or garden may doing floral paintings.

  • Participants make a simple journal (which can be branded to fit the event), and use to document their experience at the host location, or to bring home.

  • The Art Horse is a comfortable way to sit and draw the environment around us. Participants will be able to find a unique vantage point and draw what they see, using unusual or traditional art supplies.

The Teaching Artist on site can give deep instruction or casual suggestions for the participants.

Many times young people just love to sit and draw in a different manner. More advanced artist participants like to comfort and sophistication of the supplies and tools available.

  • Are you putting a community mural together and need support materials, tables, equipment and storage? Consider utilizing the Tiny School of Art & Design to secure equipment for large projects. (Pricing may vary and availability may be limited).

The TSAD is 9'w  x 20'L (including the hitch and ramp). It is not meant for the public to enter the actual trailer, however it should be within 20 feet of activities. Tables and drawing horses have infinite ways to be set up. The trailer often needs to be set up and taken down before patrons come and go.  Discounts available if TSAD is the only activity for the event.
